Do you desire more calm amid the busyness of daily, while also cultivating a deeper relationship with God?
If so, then this course is for you!

Whether you have a desire to learn more about contemplative prayer in the Christian tradition, you are looking for new ways to deepen your relationship with God, or you just want to learn more about contemplative Christianity; whether you are a practicing Christian, a member of another religious or spiritual tradition, a spiritual seeker of any background, or a "none" (a person with no commitment to a spiritual tradition), this course will inform you and inspire you.

"Everyday Mysticism" will provide you with practical knowledge that can be easily applied to your contemplative practice or prayer life, while also familiarizing you with some of the history and theology of contemplation.

FAQ's

How much time do I have to commit to complete this course?

  • 15 minutes per day for two weeks - that's it! I've applied micro-learning educational principles to developing this course, which maximizes learning and application while minimizing your overall time commitment.  Each daily "nugget" (or lesson) is "dripped" - that is, you will receive the materials each day in your inbox to help you pace through the course - with just enough information for you to absorb and incorporate into your practice.  For those who want to go deeper there are additional resources, materials, and discussion boards available.  And once a nugget is released, you will have access to the course for a full year, so you can always go back and review the materials.

Who will benefit from this course?

  • Anyone who wants to learn more about contemplation in the Christian tradition will benefit.  Those of you who are interested in beginning or deepening a daily contemplative practice will discover the most benefit from this course.  Information is provided in a way that is intended to support the development of your daily practice.

What if I'm not Christian, or I'm not familiar with Christian terms or language?

  • I try to explain any terms that might be new or unfamiliar, without assuming any background or expertise.  Cheat-sheets are provided that include definitions of new terms to help you follow along while viewing the teaching.  I'm passionate about sharing the fruits of contemplative prayer with others, and I hope that people of all backgrounds will find this information both interesting, helpful, and inspiring.

Does this course teach any particular forms or methods of contemplative prayer?

  • In general this course focuses on silent, non-discursive prayer (as opposed to praying with words or images).  I explain some common forms of contemplative prayer (such as Lectio Divina, Centering Prayer, Christian Meditation, the Jesus prayer, etc.), but I leave you the freedom to find the forms of contemplative prayer that work best for you, without teaching any one particular method.  My overall goal is to provide you with information about the resources in the Christian tradition for deepening a practice of silent contemplative prayer.

Do you offer a refund policy or satisfaction guarantee?

  • Yes!  If you complete the course within one year of the purchase date and you are not completely satisfied for any reason, I will refund 100% of the course.

Are there any scholarships or financial assistance available?

  • Yes, at the end of the course participants have an option to "pay it forward" - that is, to make a donation to a scholarship fund for others who request financial assistance.  Please email me if you would like to request assistance from this fund.

Are there any group rates available to offer the course to a class, a parish group, or other group?

  • Yes, if you are interested in purchasing the course for a class or other group, please email me for group rates.
